The Naughty Boyz Dog Training (NBDT) Teacher Training certification program provides an intensive education on dog behavior and training methods and is open to anyone interested in a career with dogs, doggie parents who want to ensure they are being the best parents possible, and those who wish to expand their knowledge about dogs and dog behavior. Why should you choose NBDT Teacher Training? - A focus on fun, engaging, and highly effective training using 100% positive-reinforcement and evidence-based methods - Extensive hands-on opportunities to work with a variety of behaviours on a wide variety of dogs - Limited number of students accepted per session - The course will assist in preparing students to write the CCPDT (Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers) examination - NBDT is a fast-growing company with a strong reputation in the community – learn about the business side of dog training and how to develop your own business from a business professional Program structure - Cohort-based program - Rolling admission multiple times per year - Most students complete the program in one year although completion time can vary depending on how fast students complete requirements. - Three learning components: o Theoretical: 36 hours (3-hour lectures twice a week running for 6 weeks). Live work with dogs will be a key component of all theoretical lecture sessions. o Practical: The practical component includes two sections: ♣ Shadowing private sessions at our NBDT Studio: Minimum 15 hours ♣ Hands-on work with dogs at Glenpark Pet Hotel: 24 hours minimum. Students will work with dogs on basic/intermediate/advanced manners, reactivity, impulse control, socialization, jumping, excessive barking, fear, confidence budding, resource guarding, tricks and more o Examination: written, oral, and practical What you will learn - How to teach basic/intermediate/advanced manners (obedience) - How to work with a variety of behavioral concerns (reactivity, resource guarding, separation anxiety, etc.) - Advanced skills (shaping, etc.) - Trick training - Conduct private sessions - Teaching group classes - Curriculum developments - AND much more!
